Jufy Joop
Born December 31st 1984 from the south end, west peninsular of Malaysia, son of a technician and music teacher. His deep interest in arts began to rose at a young age where kids his age had attended pre-school, he appeared in primary school doing scribbles at the back of the class watching his mother giving music lessons to primary kids. After finishing primary school, he pursued his high school education at a junior high as an art major student where he learnt the core fundamentals of art and design. During his high school years, he had helped produce a label for a friend managing an in-house skateboarding line and landed himself an apprenticeship with a computer hardware distributor company. He left school at 17, enrolled himself for a short diploma course which ended prematurely upon receiving a degree offer from a leading multimedia university in Cyberjaya where he learnt all aspects of designing, including film noir-influenced photography, abstract imagery and film making. He has directed well acclaimed videos which were screened abroad and due to the strength of his portfolio, he was recruited by a digital and art studio for yet another apprenticeship program. Upon graduating he travelled down south to Singapore to pursue a career as a designer. His works are highly notable for its distinctive approach with less clutter in favor of abstract caricatures and expressive typography.
